Latest Update
The last few weeks have been incredibly challenging! How do we begin…..first of all we are so blessed to have all of our amazing friends and family that support us in prayer, we need it! So much has happened in the last month I honestly don’t know what to write about first. In January Brent and I decided to really let go and let God direct us. In many ways we as a family had already “given” what we thought was everything and placed it in God’s hands but we had a little reality shock and realized that we really have to let go of everything even though we want to hold on so tightly. On January 11 we received an email telling us Wilmerson was taken from the home by his Father. This was a huge shock to us and Dorothy (she runs the orphanage) since he had not had any visitors for the two years he had lived at the orphanage. He was dropped off by his Aunt right after the earthquake. His Aunt said his Mother was killed in the quake and she had no idea what had happened to the father or where he was living. Heartbreak is all we felt. Brent and I were just so confused about the whole situation. Why had God put a desire in our hearts to adopt this little boy and then why did He let him get taken away after so many had taken care of him and loved him? We prayed for understanding, wisdom, a miracle and closure.
We don’t know what the future holds, we don’t have to always understand why things happen the way they do. I do know that God has placed a calling on our lives and we are to do what He has asked us to do. To run from his calling is miserable, life is not fun at all when you try to avoid the inevitable.
Brent and I will be headed to Haiti in March for a week. We are so excited to go and meet all of the new kids at the orphanage and work alongside so many great people that have given up everything to answer the call of God on their life. Our plan is to return to Haiti for the summer ( with the kids and they are soo excited!) We are getting our family all one-way tickets and we will come home when we hear God telling us to leave!
We have so much more to say but there is not time enough in the day to sit here and type it out! There are going to be some really awesome things happening here in the future with Coreluv and MuchMinistries. We are so blessed to have found what makes us come alive and not afraid live life to it’s fullest.
